wiper arm problem
Not sure which forum this should be in...
Got a 95WRX import. Something's not right with the wiper arms. On intermittment, usually OK. On normal and fast, it usually starts off wiping fine, but then it will hit low off the bottom of the windscreen and then hit high on the driver's side pillar. when parked, there's 3-4 inches of movement. and it sounds clunky. Is it some part that needs replacing, the whole thing or what? Any advice appreciated.

wiper arm
Hmmm, yes, I wondered this but is it that simple? Can you "just tighten up" the assembly or is there more to it, ie it can't be done and needs new parts. If the latter, which parts?

I had this on my 95 wrx, it just needed the linkage tightening where it joins the actual wiper motor.

the plastic part in the end of the wiper linkage arm that joins to the motor has probably broken. had the same on my 98 wagon, very annoying. fixed by getting a new bar, or a replacement mech from a breakers yard. easy job to change them over.
