Shocking story, but some things don't add up. For a start why did the Pug driver need to cane it to 80/90mph, why not just slow down and let him overtake - plenty of opportunities on the A165. Also if the Impreza driver leaned out of his driver's side window to hit the other car with the iron bar, wouldn't this mean the Pug is overtaking or attempting to overtake the Impreza ??

Pug owner says that he flashed him after being tailgated. So that means scooby got in front. Then he says suddenly the left side of my car was filled with a blue Impreza.....that would be because he tried to pass him
Sounds like the Pug owner got passed and then decided to be a total tit. No doubt the claims of the iron bar are to cover up the fact he was doing over 80mph on the wrong side of the road!

So, the shorter version
1) Subaru overtakes Pug causing pug to flash lights at said car
2) Pug tailgates(?) at 80, or 90
3) Subaru breaks sharply whilst simultaneously mounting the kerb or grass verge, slows down to match the Pugs speed, hangs out of window and bashed pug with bar, but, take note, whilst still driving at 80+mph on either grass or kerb, or farmers field/hedge. (dont know the road!)
