Have to say I got caught at the lights slap bang out side Lancasters Sevenoaks in my rather loud silver STI 5 complete with sparkling gold 17 inch MIM's and AP 4 pot kit, Just as the poor salesman was showing a would be buyer the ugly ducking 01 in burgundy , the poor fella spent more time looking at me.
Especially when the lights went green!!!!

I agree with Andy. Had a good look at the one down at the Fleet meet. Looks better in the flesh, but it still ain't great. Interior looks much better, but that's about it. Does look untyred as well, even with 17" rims.

We saw one after the Margam Park stage in Wales. We were in the middle lane of the M4 heading toward Cardiff. The traffic was pretty heavy, going around 40-50. The usual stop start kind of thing. Anyway, a green Turbo went by (can not remember the year, P reg I think) then right behind it was a blue MY01. Up ahead the traffic had stopped, so the green turbo stopped just as the blue MY01 accelerated. He had to slam the anchors on pretty sharpish. Very nearly a big shunt. MY01 driver was not paying attention. Quite funny afterward, but did scare me for a second, especially since they were right next to us.

I had a red one following me round the Guildford bypass south bound last week until it turned off onto the hogs back.
I cannot see myself purchasing one after life in a P1 - unless they do something equal or better than a P1.
Cheers,
Rob

I saw the Irish plated one at Sweet Lamb also, I thought it was pig ugly.
But, as with a lot of new models, I reckon that in a few months time, when people have seen a few in various colours in the flesh, they might just start to grow on you.
Lets hope so......

See the same racing blue (I think?)MY01 'toyota front lights' on way to work everyday - then almost crash checking rear that it's not - why'd they mess with it? Saw it at the Motorshow - v. disappointing!

Subaru certainly sparked off a lot of feelings when they came up with the MY01 and lots of people certainly seem to believe that there are a lot of merits to the car as well as bad points ... but for me at the end of the day .... do you think that it will ever achieve the cult status that the old models have .... I think not.
