Had mine since April. I get around 26-27 on a run at motorway speeds, low 20s with mixed driving. That's on V-Power, never run it on anything else since it has been in the country.
Not sure if a rebuild is something you can expect at a certain point although if it gets run on poor fuel you can expect it to go bang.
As for value, I'll probably get upset by what the current going rate is.
As with all old cars of this nature there is a massive price range. Rough ones probably start at about £4K, up to around £6.5-7K for a nicely sorted one. I know that the top prices are into the price range of rougher but newer models but I'd always pick a better older car, personally.
I paid top money for mine but it hasn't needed anything (yet!), appears to have been well maintained in Japan so I'm happy. Cheaper car may end up being more expensive.
Now if only it wouldn't dent so easily.....
