Default Re: lost power on my scooby

Hello peeps,
i have a 03reg imreza turbo with ppp pack on it. it seems like i've lost alot of power from the car in the last 2 days, as before the turbo used to kick in at 3000 rpm and you get the boost which you can feel, but now when i drive it is just like a normal car, you dont feel the boost at all, you get some of it in second gear, a bit of it, but nothing at all in first gear. nothing abnormal has happened to car, not has someones fiddled with any parts in car, apart from having new sound system fitted. one more thing i've noticed as well is that the dump valve doesnt make the same noise as before, as its less noisly now since this happened. could any of the experts think of any idea of what may be wrong, by the way i think i was experiencing a bit of turbo lag before this happaned, so you reckon thats to blame for it or is it just a whole new turbo? ££££££ ! i would really appreciate you help of if anyone knows of any please near ilford, east london where i can get it checked.
thanks
vic

You can start by checking the boost hoses are all connected properly around the turbo and solenoid, if you’re making zero boost it would suggest something has worked it way loose, falling that it could be a faulty solenoid etc. Its really a process of working your way through checking as you go.

had exactly the same prob on my classic, took all the hoses of the boost solunoid and cleaned them with brake cleaner (aresol) and was then like jumping in a jet fighter. try that chap.
