Question missing gears

anyone with an my05> 2.5 wrx failing to select the correct gear during the process of giving it beans.

are you sure sloppy clutch work is not to blame? Now and again I fall foul of this...much swearing ensues!

I occassionally make an **** of third gear, but I've put that down to driver error... and generally getting a bit excited as second pulls my face off up to 60

Apparently you have to go through the box too. You can't go from 3rd to 5th at high speed without going into 4th. I asked at the dealer and they said it is a common question but that's the nature of the box.

Not got a my05 but I've got a quick shift and I do find sometimes my foot isnt as quick as my hand, much to other peoples amusement
