Default What model year did the STi UK Spec get the DCCD?

I seem to remember it was MY05 - is that right? Was that when it got the different offset and PCD wheels too?

Thanks

Steve

PS If proper search was still here, I wouldn't need to post this

The first uk car to get DCCD was the WR1 in 2004 but was intrdoduced to the STis in 2005 as you say with the new pcd.

I think you may find that yours is a 2004 registered MY05 STi then mate... because as far as i was aware the only car with DCCD on the older setup was the WR1.

Easy to tell though... does your car have some small arch extensions on the rear?

No wheel arch extensions and the earlier PCD on the wheels.

I'll upload some pics. Most people are surprised when they see it!

Weird... you've got the grey seats and the mesh front grille like a WR1 too. Where did you get the car from?

I checked out your pics, that is not an MY05. The air conditioning controls are not the new style, I can't see the DCCD switch the one on the console looks like electric mirror controls. Ther seem to be the biggest indicators to it being a MY05. Just had a second look and cant see the Wheel Arch extensions on this either. Nice Car though, very clean! I am confused about the black seats.

Where is the controller for the A-DCCD on your car? Have you owned it from new?

The mesh front grill isn't genuine and was added by the previous owner. I bought the car from a bloke in Tewkesbury about 5 months ago.
It was the black seats and DCCD that got my attention. It drives a lot better than the other MY04's I drove without the DCCD.

You can just see the DCCD controls on the interior shot. The thumb wheel is between the Electric mirror controls and the gearlever. The auto/manual switch is in the bottom right of the pic above the cupholder by the handbrake.

Pics were taken after a whole days worth of polishing. I was chuffed to bits with the finish from the Jeff's Werkstatt Acrylic kit.

I am out of my depth with this now, as you can see I am still fairly new to the forum. Perhaps this is an aftermarket install.
Either way enjoy it mate

Sorry, your thread got sort of Hijacked there Steve.

It seems officially it is MY05. Things I have found to look out for.

A-DCCD switch in Centre console
Wheel arch extensions
New Style aircon controls (3 rotating buttons)
No Cup holder above stereo.
Mirror switch moved to driver door handle.

I am sure I have missed something but someone may come along and add to the list.

Like I said, most people are surprised when they see it! It has had the DCCD since new.

The WR1's all started their lives without the Prodrive mods, ie the same spec as mine when I bought it. I've since changed the wheels and springs. It looks like mine managed to slip into the country with the batch of cars that became the WR1. I know of only one other 04 UK Sti with DCCD in WR blue.

Unfortunately it might be for sale soon though. I'm working in New Zealand at the moment and have got a funny feeling I'm going to be asked to be out here for a whole year on Friday. Currently I'm helping a friend rebuild a Mazda RX-2 (you might need to look that up too, I did!) We're not going to be too short of 850bhp and will definitely be running 8 second 1/4's.

Anyway, apologies for the Hijack. MY05 would be the answer to your question for 99.9% of the cars out there.

Shame it's blue - I'm tentatively looking for Impreza number 3, but in any colour other than blue! I fancy the grey - I think that started with MY05.

Hmm.. really strange.

Is it definately a Type UK then? Because the JDM's came with DCCD on MY03-04 i believe.

A-DCCD and DCCD, A stands for automatic and this version is fitted to new age STi's, the DCCD stands for driver controlled centre differential
Sexy babe, now this bit "may" baffle you but on the other hand it may not

If it's got DCCD-A, it's 04MY and it's not a WR1 then I think you'll find it's not a Type UK. As commented on above, the 'base' spec that was used for WR1 was also available in other colours across Europe but not brought into the UK.

AFAIK DCCD was only available in the UK on the WR1. DCCD-A is MY05 (Arch bits for wider track) Don't know about EU STIs and DCCD. The WR1 colour was available in the EU (as was sonic blue for classics). If it was a JDM import, would it not have tinted rear windows?

If I buy another scoob, with a bit of luck it will be an 05+ STI.

You can buy the badges after market and stick them on. I would seriously check the paper work for your car as it can't be a UK spec with DCCD as the WR1 was the first UK car to have this. Only other explanation if it is a UK car is that the owner has paid to have it fitted by subaru... if you can do that?

This doesn't look like a JDM car to me - wrong lock on the boot. Can't see if it has a rear wiper or if the rear windows are tinted. It doesn't look like a spec C to me either, so best guess would be a Euro import based on the same car Prodrive used for the WR1.
