Default Anyone ever regret remapping their Scooby?

Hi,

Anyone ever regret remapping (or any other improvements) their Scooby?

There are so many people doing this kind of stuff nowadays, it would interesting to hear some stories, if there are any!

I doubt there is anyone out who has regretted remapping the car. A remap will provide a bespoke map for your car, allowing it to run as best as possible.

I agree totally, but there has to be someone who did not like it, or just had a bad time...........

More than likely mate. You'll always find someone who can never be totally satisfied! I know the only people who will regret a remap are the ones who have had the engine go boom soon afterwards or during the RR session.

Naaagh, definatly never had any regrets as out of the 3 times that I've had a remap, even though a bit costly, I have more power. And hopefully more to come.

I'd be one of those..........
Got it sorted in the end but had both inconvenience and unnecessary costs that I did not need to go through. No engine blow up or anything as serious as that but certainly p@ssed me off at the time. Mapper accepted the mistake which was a good thing I suppose but took it elsewhere to get "fixed"

I won't bore you with the details but in short car was mapped; had poor boost in 5th and 6th gears resulting in CEL. Drove it several hundred miles back to mapper to get sorted. Problem identified and resolved (or so I thought)

Back home boost dipping again and was making poor power on the rollers so graphs forwarded to said mapper who realised he had not flashed the updated map to my ecu so in essence I was driving around with a base map. Far from ideal. Not prepared to take anymore time off or do a further round trip in the car so went elsewhere.

Had I have used the car on a daily basis and driven it hard the consequences could have been quite bad. Fortunately I do neither so no harm done. Mapper apologised and accepted he had made the error so I left it at that. Would have been a nice gesture for some compensation of sorts (petrol money at least) but I'm not bitter or one to let things get out of hand.

CAr was remapped by A N Other and results were perfect so in a strange way "every cloud" and all that!!

Two remaps and much improved each time. Why would anyone want a boring standard car when the impreza is safely capable of so much more with just a few tweeks?

Have heard good things about them, and the prices seem quite good.

Had mine done several times by different mappers over the years and yes regretted one of them. Went there due to time restraints. And it was awful. The car drove like a pig. Had it re-done by Another and its spot on. Found to be one vital error which meant it was never going to run properly. Infact over some years and different cars,Circumstances have led me to use 6 different mappers. And i can honestly say theres only two I'd use again. Either i wasnt happy with the results of the others or i wasnt happy with the way the mapping was carried out. But then i am really fussy.
