There are two cars 1. Burns - tarmac wheels, 2. Solberg - loose surface wheels. There will be new versions as soon as the 2002 WRC starts. My local toy shop (Hurricane Models, Tel No 01992 447346) has them in stock, I'm sure they will post it to you, they are open in the morning

kewl I didn't know you could get the new cars due to being given a bit of misinformation by my local scalextric stockist. I can feel a couple of new additions to the new set coming on already, Scalextric is strangely addictive isn't it?

Nice Pair Phil (Ooh Err)...

I bought a No 4 McRae 2001 Focus WRC from G Dee's yesterday for £21. Goes nice with the Burns 2001 Impreza WRC.

PS: I managed to get one of the 5000 limited edition Burns Cars, which was a bonus. Didn't even realise at the time there was one. It's the same car but with Burns sigature one the plinth and a special box with a piccy of RB himself.

Cheers

I have just bought the 2001 Burns/Reid car made by SCX which has 4 wheel drive and a double row of track contacts.

SCX cars are made in Spain in the old Scalextric factory, when Scalextric moved their manufacturing to Margate under Hornby ownership, Matchbox bought their factory in Spain and then got taken over by Mattel who are now making slot cars under the SCX name.

On the present Scalextric tracks these cars do not run as fast due to the lack of enough power available from the transformer as these cars have more powerful motors but Scalextric are apparently bringing out a new better grip track surface and higher power transformers in the next few weeks,so these SCX models will then really shift.

All the best

Andy.

Andy,

I get confused over all the other slot car models, (Ninco, Fly, SCX etc.), therefore so far I've stuck to Scalextric.

This new Scalextric track sounds interesting though.
