Default p1 or sti 03

I was in a similar sitution like yours a couple of months ago. I decided to go for an 03 sti prodrive after owning a classic wrx for twelve months. I really like the claasics but i thought value for money i could get a much newer car

Trust me if you get one you wont be dissapointed. p1's are nice though

Good luck, Dan.

Why don`t you test drive them and see how you feel, personally i prefer the classic shape, that`s what drew me to imprezas...only you can decide fella..

I also prefer the 'classic' shape, but i'd still rather have a newage sti if I could afford one! (Only 11 months more saving towards the wedding! )

I would go for the newer Sti rather than the older P1.
Dont a fair few p1's go bang or is it a mith?
However, your choice at the end of the day
Nik.

I would treat a P1 just like any other classic STi and get it mapped. My personal view is that P1's are a little costly when you can get a classic Sti v5 or v6 (type r if you want) for less money.

People tell me the new shape Imprezas have a much better chassis and improved road handling. But my classic just makes me grin. If it ever goes bang I can get it rebuilt for less than buying a new shape. One day I might get a Litchfield Type 25, but not yet.

P1's seem to be dropping in price, seen a few nice one's around the 9K mark which is about similar money decent type r's are going for.

P1's are awesome and I'm still tempted by one, but a newage sti should be more reliable and has more toys, 6 speed box, brembos, etc.

Both cracking cars, as above I'd test drive both and see what you prefer

Cool

i used to have a classic and have recently got myself a 2004 sti and am in love with it 0-60 is not any different in my view on the classic, but get it wound up and the mid range grunt is brutal with it being a 6 speed box.. but as everyone has said give them a try... good luck

I'd have a P1 if it had a 6 speed.

I was in a similar situation also 15 months ago, and ended up getting the STI. After a remap the car is now awesome and i'm totally confident in all aspects of the car.

Still loving it!

I used to own a 03 wrx ppp. Traded it in for a P1 about three months ago. Have to say not regretted it one bit. I was a little concerned about getting an older car, but in truth the P1 is a far better car.

I had the same thought a while ago.
I chose the P1.
Never regretted it.
Main question is probably can you live with 2 door car?
