22B Type UK - Was it You?
#1
At the Mitsubishi Ralliart evening before the Network Q started, there was a very nice UK type 22B parked right outside. I didn't remember the reg (and wouldn't post it anyway).
Seeing as though only fourteen were ever brought into the country, and some have been written off, this must now be a pretty rare beast.
Absolutely stunning though!!
James.

Mossman,
We never did get to meet up. Lucky bu$$er though going to the Driver's Ball.
Next time you're down this way, give me a shout and we'll have a few drinks.

Sorry neither own that car.
I met the owner in question and it's the second 22B wearing that reg ( I nearly bought the first one ).
That one had 150 miles on it when the owner bought it two months ago.
JDS - 16 Officially imported and 3 now written off.

T22BUK is / was the car on the Subaru desk calender and appeared in many a magazine.
The plate was taken off the car when it was sold from Listers 2 weeks ago to a good friend of mine up here in Hull! As to the plates whereabouts now, on the one seen in the hospitality tent! Is that right that the chap bought it with 150 miles on the clock Neil!? Lucky bugger. Did you look at the Listers car too?
Cheers,
Jon

Listers have now got another UK in ( thats 8 or 9 they have moved now ) from a gentleman in Scotland.
I nearly bought the old T22BUK i.e. the one your mate got but my accountant poo pooed that and so I got a P1 instead.
The chap phoned Listers for a fuse and they checked on the one with 150 miles on it and the chap ended up chopping in his and buying the new one and transferred the plate over.
He said it was the most expensive fuse ever.
He did say that your mates car was going very well and seemed to be getting faster the looser the engine got.
As he let you have a go yet as I'm still smiling from the test drive

Neil,
I know the initial plan was to import 16 UK 22Bs but I was told by my dealer that only 14 actually arrived in the country. The other two never made it.

Neil,
ex T22 BUK is indeed my car "mate of mossman" obviously re plated as the previous owner is clearly loaded and is on his 3rd type UK (puts about 15 K on it and sells it).
I feel privileged to be owning one, unfortunately bent it a week last Friday. My accountant (the wife!!!) vetoed this purchase but was overidden on the grounds that I work hard and I like my Toys life has become tough after I've bent it.
Geoff
PS insurance is for 30 + so Mr Moss can not drive it!!!!

Geoff,
The previous owner's car-owning habits are clearly not sustainable! What's he going to do after he's owned all 13 remaining 22B UKs?
Also, interested as to why you went for a UK rather than an import? Residuals?

I've seen 1 22B in Dundee,
Another on the dual carriageway between Dundee and Perth - although this one looked a little sooped up compared to normal 22B's.
I've also had a 22B behind me in convoy driving into Oxford city centre where it joined from the ringroad. The bloke has longish hair!
Well that's my claim to fame!

Hope you get the car fixed and back on the road. SOON.
I used the same argument on the Head Of Fiscal Procurement in my Household ( i.e. The Wife ) to get the P1.
The 22B at Margam was the only car being photographed in amongst the P1's, legacys , MY01 and the distinct thing I remember from my two test drives of 22Bs is the looks you get from EVERY one , including other SCooby Owners.
Enjoy the car and try to keep it unbent.
HOS - Listers have got a 22B UK and it is from a chap who lives in your kneck of the Woods ( Scotland that is ).
NIMBUS - Not sad at all.

I don't think it's a good idea that we post registration plates and details of the locality of where the car is kept etc. I am sure the criminal fraternity know of this board and would be incredibly interested to hear where these magnificent cars are kept.
Although "a small town outside Preston" is not detailed, it could be enough to ensure someone is followed.
Can we go back and edit out full plates and locations etc?
Maybe I'm being over cautious, but people on the board deliberately don't post their exact town for htis very reason
James.
