Is it a single or twin piston dump valve?

take the dump valve off and either fit an OEM or run without one for a short time to see if it's the dump valve causing the problem. loss of burble I dont understand, but idling problems can be caused by dump valve. Does it seem to be boosting correctly ?

Some FMIC kits will not allow you to refit the standard BOV. You've not stated what year your car is but classics have ahd running problems associated with fitting a vent to atmosphere (VTA) BOV. Waste of money which is a shame. Your best bet is to get a hold of a recirc unit (Forge etc).

If you've fitted the FMIC are you now running an induction kit. I'm sure that would have been removed also.

You'll need a remap at this point as the car won't be providing enough fuel to match the increased air flow mixture.

Hopefully someone can add to this.

Regards

Esh

Maybe a vacuum leak through a loose FMIC hose causing the rough idle/cutting out?

Have you had it remapped since fitting the FMIC? Even if your coil packs don't look damaged, they can still be worn, do you know how old they are?

instantly sounds to me like an inlet leak somewhere. loosen all your intercooler hose jubalee clips and give the hoses a spin and re apply the jubalee clips. another way to test for a vacuum leak is get some electrolube and spray it on each joint, the electrolube creates a temporary seal and your idle speed changes if there is a leak, this is a quick spray on way to find your leak. worth noting also electrolube evaporates away after a minute so no damage to electrics or the engine on this test.
