Smile Another Girl question!!



Hiya!! I want to fit some new speakers in my classic Scooby but the bl**dy parcel shelf is metal haha! Does anyone know if it is ok to cut the metal?! Might sound like another girlie question but I don't wana mess (putting it nicely) it up!!

options are to either fit some under the rear shelf or to take out the current cloth covered cardboard shelf and get a custom made one to cover your new speakers.

Wrong section me thinks... but I fitted 6X9's under my parcel shelf... I made a mdf spacer about 1/2 inch thick... screwed that to the metal with self tappers... then screwed the speakers to the spacers..
Sounds good...

Mine had holes in the metal to accommodate speakers just covered with the cloth, fitted some Kenwood speakers

Mind you it was a Type R so might be different with 4 door cars

Had this problem with the RB5, Just go for speakers the same size that are in already

I fitted 6x9 in my classic i fitted them where the old ones were,had to use long bolts and used nuts for spacers it worked and sounded mint!

There IS a third option: Make MDF spacers to go ON TOP of the shelf, and cover the spacer with carpet-type cloth for sub boxes etc, bought from an ICE dealer.

It's what I did when I put 6x9's in my classic.
