Hi
As part of a work bonus thing, I have been given £245 to spend on a trackday driving experience
.
Location: York - prepared to travel a bit, also wouldn't rule out Goodwood or anywhere South of London as family are nearby.
Cars: Looking at the usual supercar's on offer, not interested in rally days or driving an Elise or Impreza on a track.
I can add cash to the amount above so max is probably £300 depending on location.
Can anyone with experience recommend a suitable value for money offering? (if there is such a thing with these events
)

if it was me i would use your own car and go a track day! much more fun!even more so if going with a crowd of like minded scooby nutters
we got my little brother a day at thruxston driving a mx5 and was complete crap!stupid rev limit of like 4000rpm
whats the point? i did not belive this when i asked my brother why he was going so slow
so i asked the instructor and he said they are all told not to go over 4000rpm if possible as it would be unsafe!! i would be gutted if some one got me a day in a super car on a track and just about got over the public speed limit!
maybe not all circits are the same?

If you're near York then there's plenty of stuff going on at Elvington. How about track day lessons with Driverskills - Advanced Driving Tuition, Skid Pan and Fleet Driver Training I did this before venturing out on my first trackday.
Cheers, Diccy.

Its supposed to be a track day thing so I think the car hire thing would be out, plus they are probably a bit expensive.
I dont have the scoob anymore so my Audi Avant wouldn't be much fun!
A family member had a Aston experience last year at Bruntingthorpe, which consisted of a quick scoob passenger ride and then about 3 laps for the main event. Obviously over pretty quick.
Whilst there, someone else had a go in the Murcielago and was told they couldn't change gears quickly which was a bit dissapointing. It was the Orange one from Evo Mag so not sure if it was because of some sort of ownership thing

Javelin do MX5 hire at Elvington track days, I think a 1/2 day price may be about what you want to spend. Don't think they restrict you to 4000rpm as they didn't seem to be getting in anyones way when I was out on track.
