Some turbos are strong enough to handle it, others aren't.

Just find out how much it is to rebuild your turbo first.

You'll do bearings very quickly running with no dump valve.

From what i have gathered th VF series turbos are not strong enough to run without a dv and you will damage the compressor blades. On the other hand the TD05 will run no problem without a dv, as it is much more robust.

as above, the TD series should be

but on that , i do know quite a few that run vf without bovs , take your chances i suppose

Do you not get a vaguely similar noise to that with a Cold Air Induction Kit using the OE Re-Circ BOV or Forge equivalent??

I absolutely love that sound though and its VERY tempting as the car is still under warranty!!

Cheers,
Grant

a friend of mine recently put a fmic kit onto his 94 l-plate ra. had a simple baileys bov on the car, and its a very similar chattery noise. he bloody loves it, although its not exactly the same as the above, you can tell.

depending how much i give my car, with my baileys bov, i get more of a whistling hssssshhh noise than a pssssh noise if you understand me.

So I am assuming that its not just as simple as plugging up the dump valve?

I've got an STI8 IC on my classic but still the OE TD04,decat, panel filter and ECUTEK mapping.

If I plug up my DV I take it I'll get the noise - but not for very long?
