or could just be mentioning "prodrive" to sell it and all Bull****

I have a UK MY00 classic with the prodrive performance pack. I think it puts standard power up to 240, but with a decat and panel filter you will be up to 260-270. More than enough for every day driving.
I used to think that there was a massive difference between UK and JDM cars but the PPP makes a difference where it counts, increases the mid range torque and power. Ideal for country back roads and 'twisty's'
UK salloons have the TD04 turbo as well so you have quicker spool up and more driveability.
Hope that helps
If it does have the PPP you will see the Prodrive hose from the turbo to the intercooler and it should have a PPP Certificate.

It's the correct name of the classic (UK) Impreza Turbo, known as the WRX in Japan. The Prodrive bit refers to the PPP which was an option at the time.
