Most BHP from sports cat exhaust

Most BHP from sports cat exhaust
Hi all,
Can people please reccomend what sports cat full system exhaust will give me the biggest BHP gain?
The car is a 97 uk turbo 2000, and I plan to get it to 320 bhp with other mods
Also, if i'm wanting 320bhp should I just upgrade the panel filter or get an induction kit?
I'm not really into the hassle of changing over exhausts at m.o.t, what model should I go for and from where?
Thanks

AFAIK most of the sports cats on the market are the same with maybe a couple of BHP between them, if 320 is all your planning a decent filter is more than up to it, 350 or above induction kit is recommended

Is the scoobyworld afterburner full de cat system any good?
Seems a good price @ £450 incl. vat
Another question is what do I need to keep so I can pass it at MOT's? Is it just the downpipe or centre section or what?
Just thinking lugging around a large exhaust at home with not much space isn't the best idea...

Go for one of the packages from scoobyworld. Good value for a full system and good quality too.
For MOT you can get away with a single sports cat in the downpipe and a decat centre section.
However if you're going to run this set-up I think most people would recommend a remap...?

Impreza Turbo 1993-2000 Classic:Impreza Turbo 1993-2000 Classic: Scoobyworld Afterburner Vortex [AFTERBURNERBB] - £279.99£249.99
For 320bhp, you will also need:
an uprated fuel pump: walbro 255 most peeps go for
turbo swap: something like a TD05/TD04hybrid/VF23/VF28
bigger injectors: 440s will do it
and obviously a remap.

H&S 3'' special Sport cat with 100 cells/sq inch cat.
Claimed to loose 2 bhp on independent rolling road testing.
Very expensive!
Now fitted with Revolution centre/back box.
DropShots Day
380 ish bhp.

Also have a look at the APS exhaust with the sports CAT. These are a bit expensive but sound great and you can get loads of power through them. Have a look on their web site for details. They are about £900-£1000 though with the CAT! They fit superbly.

Thanks for the info guys, another few questions have arisen from your answers..
1. If I get just the air filter and exhaust for now, will I need a remap?
2. Or would I be better waiting for when I have ALL of the parts so I can save money with just one remap?
3. How much would a remap cost roughly?
Cheers

I (and many others on here) went for the Ninja Sports Cat from Scoobyworld @ £299 - decent piece of kit. Its all you need to pass MOT, can have centre decat with this and any backbox - mine flew through emissions test with it.

Yup. Beauty of the Ninja Sports Cat (or any other mentioned I presume), is that you can go with any centre/backbox with it.
Backbox depends on how loud you want - I think the Afterburner is pretty loud. I used to have a Ninja backbox and that was pretty loud also.
Centre sections are either resonated or not - resonated better if you do a lot of higher speed cruising for e.g. as quieter/less drone.
You should be ok just fitting exhaust/filter without remapping, I did this for a week or so before my remap - was running 230bhp like that as it turned out.
However, remap as soon as possible for safety's sake.
You are better off however, getting all the parts first as you say and then remapping straight away.
As for remapping, as yours is a 97 you can't do Ecutek - which is normally about £500+vat.
You would have to go the Apexi power fcroute - which is a bit more wonga at about £800 supplied, fitted and mapped.
Alternatively, there is a new open source solution out there - but I don't know a lot about that?
Scoobyclinic also map 93-97 scoobs for £380/£480 according to their website:
