Well, I have just lost the sale of my Legacy after the guy had said he'd have it but before he collected it was so put off by the fact the car was illegal (see Hard Cash) he withdrew is offer and asked for his deposit back.

Despite my efforts to try and put the record straight he was sure that all imports were now illegal, would rust in a year (even though it's been undersealed), he wouldn't be able to get a warranty (even though it still has 10 months left on mine which is transferable), and it **might** have been involved in an accident or stolen or clocked. Of which none as I know the guy I bought it off!

So now I have to re-advertise, can I reclaim these costs from the beeb????

And another thing........Mr Quentin Wilson said he could not fathom why people buy Grey's. Can someone here tell how to buy a UK Legacy GT-B or Impreza WRX STi???

Exactly. Hardly rocket science.

As for his comments about you can't speak to the previous owner, how many people here have bought a car and written to the previous owner, got a reply and then taken there car back to the dealer as a result of the response, I'm guessing not a lot. And what about auctions, which top gear covered not to long ago, QW was going on about the bargains but how do you contact the previous owner, you can't you got just as much chance buying a lemon at a UK auction as a Japanese one!

As you can probably tell I'm more than a little Pi55ed off now.

Thats harsh mate, it may be worth writing to them, you never know they might air a retraction of some of the comments, like watchdog do frequently... Trouble is, those that believed it to start with, will probably continue to.. Hope you get it sorted soon.
