MY00 W/ 17" WRX wheels

1. TSL GrpN Discs W DS2000? pads......

2. Prodrive upgrade.....

3. AP 330mm Upgrade.....

Just the facts ladies and gentlemen please......whats best, is there much stopping diff between 1,2,3....in road reality, e.t.c e.t.c.....

I just want to stop as fast as humanly possible.....

P.S. How much is the Eibach spring upgrade, and am I right in thinking that it will...

A. Lower by 20mm
B. Increase ride hardness 'a bit'
C. Make the car handle better thru thr bendy bits.....

Thx for the info.....

On first application all 3 will be as near as dammit equal. After a number of stops (depending on just how fast you were going before braking and how long between corners) the Alcons and AP's will keep working whereas the 1st kit will lose efficiency as it overheats.
To be honest for road use I think any big brake kit is overkill, you'd have to drive like an absolute hooligan to fade Group N discs and DS2.5k pads cross country.
Alcons or AP which is better? Well AP is certainly more popular and fashionable on this BBS. (Saying that I have Alcons on both my scoobies, put a set on the second car after extensive use on the first one)

If you want to stop as fast as humanly possible then AP 6 pots are what you need. I had the same indecision as you and chose the 6 pots. Awesome braking power it seems the faster you go the faster you stop!

AP 6 pots on my MY01 - they will stop you as fast as humanly possible - stood up to lap after lap of abuse at Donno recently too......

Have to disagree with me old M8 Chuck - mega brakes fill 18's a treat

Ah yes, they certainly fill the wheels a treat mate, but unless you upgrade the suspension and tyres I don't agree that bigger discs = quicker stopping distances, assuming big set and standard set are both working optimally. Lets face it, with either set you can activate the ABS and hold it till you come to a halt.
If you are now gonna argue that with better brakes you get better 'feel' so can outperform the ABS...well then thats exactly the reason I got the Alcons, I felt the Alcons gave me more feedback than the AP 6 pots, and as I have no ABS that was important.
And my callipers, although 'only' 4pots, are as big as AP 6 pot callipers ;P
Lets face it, Pete's standard size disc Brembo calliper setup is at least as good, and technically bettter as lighter (Just doesn't look sexy )

Ive got Brembo 4pots on my scoob (MY00, 310mm discs) and compared to the standard they are great they stop better, dont overheat and dont fade they are great for the road or the track (but would like bigger discs with cross drilled/groves ) just so they look better under the alloys
Worth looking at the scoobysport setup

So chuckster.....if I get an Eibach spring upgrade (don't want the full monty prodrive suspension unless I have to) and the AP 6 pots...dya reckon that'll do it.....

I have PZeros, so my tyres are fine if you know what I mean...(if you call sideways in the wet round roundabouts at 15mph fine)

If you go for the AP 6pots the chances are is that your also going to need an anti lift kit as the nose will go down hard on you!!
think they about 100 quid

If you go for AP 6 pots, it's got to be the ScoobySport Leda kit to go with it LOL

Cool

Hehehe - yes it is VERY good.....vastly improved body control, yet amazingly compliant on the road. And for those track days, five minutes to crank the bump/rebound adjustment up to track settings. Oh, and you get a free total alignment as part of the installation...i'd better stop now
