Is it on a classic? if i remember correctly the downpipe has a small amount of adjustment via a bolt underneath, noticed this when re-fitting my de-cat, this maybe all you need, think there's about 20mm(approx)to play with.

I have an afterburner full system and decat centre on my 03sti.
From memory, it was a bit of an **** to fit and did blow at that location initially, but after a couple more times jacked up, with me on my back, bits of black crap falling in my eyes and a sore neck it was rectified.

The best method I found was to remove the backbox and start by fitting the centre pipe to cat, once this is fitted correctly then bolt up the backbox and finally fit the 3x rear rubbers.
