Default STi MY03... Whats Your Fuel Cap Like?

MY03 JDM STi

My fuel cap doesnt come off, its just got a hole in the middle of it with like a little erm, flap on it which u push back with the nozzle of the petrol pump,

Wondered if this was standard on all the sti's, or just jdm's, or what?

Whats yours like?

Mine is an STI Type UK and the filler cap is the conventional screw on type.
Yours sounds weird

That did come into the trail of thoughts, however, extensive testing/research excluded that from the possibilities.

The mystery continues!

Hi, on my 96 STI it has the same thing. It looks like a normal screw cap which wont come off and a small flap in the middle, just big enough for an unleaded nozzle.

Suffice to say I know the petrol cap on the STI too well.....it's a Type Uk and not a wierd flappy one.

Could be fitted so that it will only accept an unleaded nozzle for the SVA test.

Usually imports have a neck restrictor fitted.

That sounds different?

My 03 JDM has a screw in cap, just like the UK cars.

My old STI TYpeR also had the same type of screw in cap, as did all the other JDMs I have seen fill up.

As part of the SVA, you do need to put in a restrictor, but I have never heard of it replacing the cap completely.

Its possible, but I think the standard cap is screw in. Where was the SVA carried out????

I have got the original receipt for that in my folder, but not got the folder to hand right now. I think it was in Liverpool somewhere, I will get a picture up of the fuel cap, I didnt like it at first, but now its awesome.

Dont have to faff about unscrewing the old one when its freezing cold, just slap in the nozzle and winner
