where can i get one of those lcd type intake temp gauges, nomad i think ive seen, looks nice and normal in the center console but cant find where to buy them. tried ebay but no joy.

I have on my car just what I think you are looking for. I bought it from Courtenay Sport, BUT I've checked their website & they don't appear to still offer one.
I've dur around a bit and you might try the link below as a start:-

alternatively Maplins sell something, BUT it is 1.5v battery powered & does not have any backlight.

Always check the refresh rate as some of the digital thermometers refresh every 5-10seconds.
