i didnt think brake pads or clutch friction plates had asbestos in them anymore,its not allowed anymore is it?

There hasn't been asbestos in cluthes or brakes for decades and was banned in the UK many moons ago on new cars due to the very same health and safety reasons mention above.


The only risk is new-old stock parts for classic cars/bikes, many are labelled, or at least "should" be labelled. The auto jumbles at classic car/bike shows are a frenzy of asbestos ridden parts, god know why they bother selling them, as the modern pattern equivelents are far superior
