Talking new member wanting more power

Hi I have a 1999 scooby uk spec and have done some work to it but I am looking a bit more power. I have put uprated injectors in ,centre cat out, uprated fuel pump, hi preasure fuel regulator, k&n air filter turbo boosted to 1.25 bar (most of this was done by engine tuners) and it was roll roaded to 260bhp at the crank but the next thing I was thinking of doing was to take the main cat out. Has anyone got any before and after figures for bhp increase. Has anyone used the Prodrive free flow cat as I would prefer this as it means I do not have to take it out for every mot but if no cat was better performance I would be happy to change it every year. I await everyones feedback.

Thats quite good figures for a car with the standard cat in place. What rolling road were these figures obtained on??

I got 272BHp on my My99 with a full decat, K&N induction kit and a ECUTEK remap on Power engineering rollers.

When you say the "turbo was boosted to 1.25bar" do you mean the ECU has been remapped using ECUTEK software? Replace the down pipe with a either a sports cat or a de-cat and then have it remapped again after. This should net you around 280BHP

If you want to break the 300BHP you'll have to change the turbo.

Interesting that the injectors were changed, A 99Uk comes with 440's and these should be good for 340BHP

Try getting Harvey to port and wrap your headers, and get it remapped by Bob Rawle

The boost was increased by an external boost controller I think it is by HSK (I have hidden it in the car and would have to take a panel off to see the name). Not sure why the injectors would have been changed but they were done before I bought the car (have some yellow marking on them) was told this by people working at it and when i got the car it roll roaded at 220bhp. Does anyone know can you use any down pipe of that age eg WRX or import.
