humph, another engine problem
hi all,
problem im getting is when thrashing the scooby (fast accelleration) or driving at high speed 80+ the engine light will start to flash. if i ease of for around 30 secs, it dissappears. not had it come back on after easing off and re-thrashing. doesnt come on all the time, only intermitently, but coming more of a occurence now. apart from light, i feel any other side affects, powers still there.
always warmed and cooled running BP ultimate (but can happen on vpower and tesco), hks air filter and afterburner cat back.
any ideas?
2 years of endless problems now with this scooby, had neutral position switch changed twice for engine light coming on and staying on, oil leak behind cambelt, and petrol leak on 3rd injector

Ah !!
The MY02 WRX random CEL generator !! I have one too !!
Flashing CEL usually means the ECU does not like the output from one of it's sensors .... probably a "misfire" from cylinder 1/3 or a Camshaft position sensor error (which should light up a solid CEL)
If the ECU had deteted "knock/det" it would retard ignition and drop boost !!
Has the car been remapped ??
