Default White P1 100% Original

Hi Guys,

I was on the Autotrader website when i came across this..

ListersGroup.co.uk - Your Chosen Used Subaru Impreza

I phoned the garage up to query the colour of the car and they assured me it was an Original prodrive production car..

I was always under the impression P1's were only available in Sonic Blue.
Its also wearing speedlines and not Oz's. If you look closely aswell you can see its got the original carbon fibre stripped wing and its got the big spedo and small rev counter that the Uk cars had, as opposed to the other way around on the Sti imports. Any thoughts ??

The first ever P1 prototype was white, should be number 000 me thinks. There was another thread about this a few months back.

page 104 you and your subaru impreza turbo.
picture of dave richards+ed swatman in front of white p1 prototype.
car has different wheels(look like rb5 wheels on the one for sale).
car for sale now has clear front indicators, and has aquired p1 fogs.only covers on the prototype.
could be the same car.

Do P1's not have a unique number assigned to each car?
If they do, isn't there a register that it could checked against

the best way is to check chasis number a uk car will have longer vin number i think, but it might be the one of the origanal p1 prototypes as they were a type r converted by prodrive for the uk anyway

The number is on top of passenger strut top, p1woc has a register but it only shows people who have personally registered, I still havent registered mine. Like I said earlier if it is a P1 its No 000, there are posibly 3 of this number floating around, bit like the 22B.

i would have thought listers would have checked it out anyway because if there selling it as a p1 uk car it has got to be other wise there leaving themselves wide open for trading standards to have a go or someone to sue them for false advertising

The thing that got me is there a Subaru main dealers. Surely they would dare not try and sell a P1 badged Type R on there forecourt.

I live not to far from Worcester and did a lot of work that way a few years ago, i can remember seeing loads of P1's on the front there back in the day before the Newage came along.

It looks like a UK car to me and not a type R. The dash is defo uk spec. I cant recall ever seeing a P1 on a T plate so could be an original prototype as mentioned.

lol as for the Mica Blue P1, from what i've seen on the P1 owners site it started out life as sonic blue 74f, but the new owner didn't like the coluor, and wanted mica blue so it was repainted before it hit the road

Firstly, there is a prototype P1 and it was in white. AFAIK it was a T reg too. I was looking at P1's in 2001 and came across the white one for sale. It was for sale from a Subaru dealers then and apparently there were loads of add ons, especially carbon fibre. I didn't get it at the time as it wasn't a 'proper' P1, and you have to prefer the white over the blue.

Secondly, I remember a few years back a chap who purchased a P1 and had it repainted the dark mica blue colour, I think he also swapped the spoiler for a low level one to make the car look less high profile.

That's not to say this DBM Impreza is a P1, as there are many listing errors in the autotrader, although the price seems very high for an ordinary UK 2000
