Dum dum dum, another one bites the dust... (Shell garages)
What's hapening?!?!?
My local one (Hemsworth, West Yorkshire) has now turned into BP! I've noticed a few people say their local garage has changed hands recently, are they going under or something? Looks like i'm going to be using 'Ultimate' for a while
Weird as it may sound I really liked the smell of the exhaust fumes when using V-Power, (not to the extend that i'd lock myself in the car with a hose pipe poking through the window though) performance was ok too
While we are on the subject, has anyone noticed poorer MPG since Optimax went to V-Power? I was loosing about 30 miles per tank!
Oh and nice to see we've gone festive

I've a black blobeye WRX on a private plate mate.
I'm guessing the local is Ponte but i'm not willing to drive that far to fill up, it would be a 20 mile round trip!
What's happening to them all?!?!?!?!?!?

It's at least the second to close in my area this year, the first is now a Jet and don't (as far as i'm aware) offer their 'super fuel' there yet, neither do the local Tesco
slowly being forced into using Ultimate.
slowly being forced into using Ultimate.
Maybe it's just me - I always use Optimax/V-Power but decided to try Ultimate. Pulled into a BP but the only Ultimate I could find was diesel (decided not to bother!) What exactly is the BP high octane petrol called??

Same here. 5 Shells are now BP. I asked the Manger of my local ex Shell why?
Basically Shell have been taking the we we. Very beligerent Company to deal with. ( cracking word that!) very aggresive, on payment terms, pay up before the money is due, put you on stop etc etc.
BP Rep came into see him ( apparently a lot of Shell Garages Agrements are up for renewal now & for the next 6 months or so), different attitude & a great deal so, he signed up as, have others.
I hear that, "Atilla The Hun" is the Marketing Strategy Shell are using, must have too many Customers, (not for long) pity that Ultimate isn't as good a fuel than Shell.

However, the BP station on Hungerdown Lane is now a Tesco and it stocks Tesco 99 is you're interested. I had problems using it last year, so I won't use it.
I now have to go out my way to obtain V-Power.

Has anyone else noticed poorer petrol consumption since switching from Optimax to V-Power?
