Default car park dent rage

aaahhhh i parked in a far away spot in a car park went shopping with the kid for 1/2 an hour come back and a merc ml320 is next to my car pretty close and low and behold a dent is on the passenger door

it's not acutally that big but you can see it if you go to the back of the car and look toward the front u know one of the annoying ones that will show up in certain lights

anyway i left a message on guys windscreen asking him to give me a phone

since the call he denies even parking next to me!!!!

where do i stand with no witnessess? i mean the dent is only gonna be about 70 bucks from dentwizard or something but what gets me is the way he is lieing about all of this i feel like tracking his car down and holding a rave on his bonnet!

any suggestions i have his number btw

Park over two spaces, so no one parks either side. Iv done that for 18 months and not had a dent yet, the only time people park next to you is people with brand new cars, or people who actually care about their car, and then u feel good about yourself because theyve done exactly what you have, and they understand why lol.

But as to your situation, I am surprised he even rang you, if he is denying it theres not much you can do, apart from track down his car and have a rave on his bonnet, but youve already suggested that!

I park in those Parent with Child bays that you get at Supermarkets, I know I shouldnt, but I would rather get a telling off from a mother and her brat then paying £70 to get a dent removed from my door!

At a £70 cost, unfortunately, he'll probably get away with it.

It isn't worth pursuing on insurance.

I've seen similar cases where drivers ahve managed to get the Police involved, who call at the Third Party's address to check for corresponding damage to his car.

However, it's unlikely you'd be able to persuade the Police to become involved.

Geordiewrx,
That has got to be a **** take. Are you seriously saying that if you pop into Asdas you take photos and get the reg numbers of the cars next to you ?
FFs get a life. IT IS ONLY A CAR. get over it.

Fully sympothise with you mate, happened to me a few times now but happly i know a bloke from dent out and he sorts my dents for a few pints Anyway a mate of mine is a bit of a loose cannon... on one visit to sainsburys in his car, when we got out he said to me, check both sides of the car... no dents, there wasnt another car to the left or right of the car, come back and a piece of **** astra parked beside him really really close dont even know how the ****er got outta his car... so we looked up the side of the car and what do ya know... DENTED So me mate and i get in the car, he moves outta the parking space, gets out of the car, and delivers and nicely placed boot from his size 9 steel toe caps right into the quarter panel of said vauxhall... Now i do not condone his actions but it sure make him feel better...

I think parking over two spaces can actually cause people to target you. Seen it happen 12 months ago where someone keyed the car as they went past shouting "selfish tw*t". Now I didn't agree with the blatant vandalism but understood his sentiments.

Like many I wouldn't have bothered with the note. Chances that you get someone to admit and cough up is slim. If I was 100% sure that the car next to me had caused the damage I would have responded in kind.

The hard bit is proving it was him ........ I had this happen to me at a golf club. I waited for the owner to be retrieved from the course so I could have a chat with him. We then proceeded to open his door which hit exactly the spot where the dent was. he paid in full.

unfortunatly mate your in a no win situation.with no witnesses and the other bloke saying it wasnt him theres not much you can do.ive had two dents the same way on my scooby, since then ive treated it to a respray and now park in the most remote part of the carpark and hope for the best.saying that if i came back to my car and it was dented and was obvious it was the car next to it i would have to wait for them to come back and try to sort it.problem is you dont no what nutter it might be

Not even £70, he said 70 bucks so Stateside and a little over £35. Not worth worrying about IMO.

I now do the park in two spaces thing.

Hard a merc park so close to my car i coulnt get in had my gf get in the passenger side and i had to push the car out of the space.

Unfortunatly i caught my key all the way down the side of his car as i pushed mine out.

Im always carefull were i park and if the space is tight put my had on the door so neaither car gets damaged.

No there was damage to mine the big mark where his door had twatted mine.

There was so much room in the car park you could have played football, yet he parked so close i couldnt open my door wide enough to get in.

It was calibra (big doors lol)

On the flip side of this I once came back to my rusty old shed of a Golf to find a new 5 series parked about 2 cm from my drivers door and well over the white lines demarking the space. On the other side was a wall I was parked fairly close to out of habit (ie leave as much space from the white line and avoid contact).

YouTube - Vic and Bob - Ships Engine

Felt much better after I cruised serenly out of the space

Myself and all my mates take 2 car park places because of this problem. I have had words with people about it but they should take more car of other peoples property.

Sorry guys.... parking in parents with children spaces and taking up two spaces is just outright inconsiderate and it has crossed my mind a couple of times to key cars in this situation for such inconsideration... these things just come with car ownership and if it bothers you so much just polish it and keep it in the garage.

Rubbish.....

These things shouldn't come with car ownership, it comes down to jealousy and this ****ries ever diminishing lack of manners.....
No one gave me my car, I worked for it and do everything right, pay my road tax, fully comp'd insurance. garaged the lot....no one gave it to me because i'm a nice bloke.....so i'll park in two spaces all day long to keep people away from it.....
and these 'parents with children spaces' are a load of rubbish anyway....when I was young there wasn't any of this, my mother had to walk back and forth so it's again another show of how easy people want it....and that they're so hard up because they have children.....boo ******* hoo.....

They never had Mobile Phones either when I was young, doesn't mean it's a bad thing, it's called progress.

What the hell has parking spaces got to do with being hard up?

So if you owned something that you looked after and then someone damaged it.......you'd just say, "Oh well, that shows me for wanting to own something and keep it neat...."
If that was the attitude we'd all be driving around in brown ford fiesta bonus's....(not that there's antyhing wrong with them)

I say again, rubbish....or maybe you don't like to keep things pristine....
It's not **** everyone else, only when it come to them not showing consideration for me....I won't show any for them
Yes it just then goes round and round in a circle but what do you get for being nice? a dent in your door....

Progress?
no it this particular instance.....just another product of a very soft UK....can't even call it Great Britain anymore....

So to clarify, supermarkets providing spaces for people with children is an example of the UK going soft?

Priceless.

Get them kids up them chimneys!
