Default quick question

hi all,
I am looking at buying an early 90's STi soon. I've heard not so good things about the cranks. Can anyone shed any light on this for me.

What should I look out for, any help would be gret thanks,

Graham

The rods of an Sti 7 are better made and a stronger design than the rods fitted to any classic shape engine, and can be used with an earlier phase 2 crank. The Sti 7 crank however is identical to that used in classic phase 2 engines, an improoved crank design came in with the Sti 9.
Found this using the search facility...there's lots of other advise there on what to look for too
