Default jdm octain or remap

I have read loads and loads of threads on octain booster, this is my first scooby, my 99 sti ra and would like to know if i do remap to uk fuel (vpower) would i loose any power and also what dangers are there with running octain booster, a garage told me there are no dangers if you use the correct amount.

thanks in advance.

To a great degree, what you need to do depends on what your car is doing. Id fit a DetAlarm/KnockLink and take it from there. If it lights up like a Christmas tree then you need to do more, if its steady then you may get away with V-Power/Tesco99.

You wont lose power by having the ECU mapped for UK fuel, think about it. If the car was making 300bhp on UK fuel then you wouldnt need to alter anything.....
