Opinions on fun and driver satisfaction especially with handling for Turbo Forrester or Turbo Legacy.
Looking at cars of around the £10,000 to £12000 price range, probaby go for the estate Legacy.
Would consider 3L Spec B model but not sure of performance.

May change from my current Impreza and go more descreetly.

Forester without a doubt. A Forester is built on an an Impreza's under-pinnings: really its a high-capacity Impreza estate car...

Been looking at Forrester adds.
I need a work horse for work so looks like could keep the Impreza and go for a high mileage Forrester with FSH, would be nice to know difference in fuel consumption between turbo and the non turbo.
Turbo would be nice.
Non Turbo s going from £3000 upwards.

Agreed. But a Frosty runs on shockly bad Yokohama Geolandars as standard. If you get one, change the tyres immediately!

There's a Europe forum near the bottom of the page:

P.S. I've never seen more than 24mpg from our Forester S Turbo

Yep, and the Impreza is based on the Legacy. Really all Subaru's line-up is pretty much the same car when you get down to it.

That said, voting twin-turbo Legacy GTB if you value low and mid range acceleration. Greater cargo capacity than the Forester too!

The Forester was essentially an Impreza with a high capacity body; thats why the Forester dashboard fitted straight in (the new Impreza interior was developed for the Forester). Thats different from the car sharing some common parts.

Having driven both, and if the need for extra ground clearance is not an issue, then a Legacy is a far better built premium range product with better quality materials used to make the experience all the better. If you are looking for a jumped up Impreza that goes through muddy ruts, then a Forrester is the thing.

Engine, trans, suspension and braking layouts, are all common.

The only differences being body, interior and equipment levels.

The leggy has a far larger interior than the other two, and built better
