Thumbs up S14a to a Scoob?

Hi guys,

I'm considering swapping my 200sx S14a to either an Impreza STI Type R or a P1

Do you think it would be worth it? Most people seem to say just keep the S14a as it is as quick if not quicker once rolling. Obviously not off the line where scoobs benefit of AWD.

My 200sx in on a V reg (99) and it's done 60k miles (low) and is running 300bhp and similar levels of torque.

I've had the car for 2 months and it's a real minter. Before buying it my heart was set on a P1 but for some reason this cropped up and I decided to go for it. I've just had the bumper resprayed and the bodywork is in real good condition.

Here are some pics...

Anyone on here looking to do a deal on this little drifter ?

FSH, oil changed every 3-4k miles with a new oil filter. Only use fully synthetic 5w 40 (motul or silkolene). Clutch and flywheel have only been in for 800 miles and are running perfectly. Had gearbox oil change when they went in to some good stuff and the brake fluid changed to the dot 5.1 stuff.

HPI clear and i'm the 3rd owner from new. The engine is solid as a rock.

Here are the mods...
SR20DET - Custom full stainless exhaust system & de-cat, APEX type 2 fmic, NISMO-555 injectors, blitz air filter, boost gauge, GREDDY pro fec b II boost controller, HD STG2 CHIP, DENZO plugs, walbro fuel pump, fidanza lightened alloy flywheel, act extreme organic clutch, kyb shocks, eibach springs, 4 new eagle f1's, brembo grooved discs, ferodo ds2500 pads and goodridge braided brake lines.

On standard internals these cars are capable of 400bhp.

I've never taken it on track.

I also have the std spoiler, std wing mounted intercooler and std airbox included with the car.

The old wheels that came with the car were 19's and they seemed too big. I'm now running it on the standard 16" wheels and it handles superbly especially on the brand new eagle f1's.

The car is valued at £6995. Anyone with a STI-Type R looking to do a swap or someone with a P1 looking to do a part ex?

Cheers,

Chris

P.S - if Scutch is on here lurking around somewhere... Hey bud!

Looks stunning m8! Always had a soft spot for these. Think 7K is a bit optimistic though. 5.5K i'd say.

The ones that go for 5.5k tend to have higher miles and don't look half as nice or go half as quick as this one.

You get what you pay for. I've already started to have some interest. I'll just have to see what happens but appreciate your feedback.

If you want to sell it, why not put this in the 'for-sale' section?

I sold my S14a for an 02 STI and have never looked back. I did the usual mods to the SX and got so fed up with the back end being all over the place without any real provocation. In the end I decided I was bored of having to worry about cornering and she went in favour of AWD. I agree about the high end rolling speed, those SX's are dam quick at high revs but normal driving the SX wouldnt stand a chance, acceleration, grip, braking, handling - forget it, the STI is 10 times better.
