My O2 Bugeye has just failed it's MOT due to the OffSide 'reflectors' not working/not wired and NearSide 'reflectors' not working/not wired.....the rest of the vehicle was A1.

I tried to explain to obnoxious garage owner that these components were never intended to be repeators on this year of manufacture and their function was purely reflective....but alas, he new best and refused to issue the certificate....

I now have to return with my manual, opened at the page showing the exterior light legend, and point out that there is no 'light' of any description associated with this area of the vehicle.....and hope that it will embarrass him enough to give me the damn certificate!!!!

Anyone else heard of this or is this really a first????

he's taking the **** , mot testers most of them are wanabe technicians, perhaps its the crap money they get payed

 

maybe hes an auto spark after some money !!!

 

The testers have to pass an exam to become MOT testers, surely common sense should be part of this test!
