Default Sti Spoiler bolt problem

i bought a spoiler from DR motorsport and fitted it about a year ago. However one of the 4 main bolts has gotten loose but i simply cannot tighten it. It continues to rotate clockwise without tightening.

Iv tried it with a different washer, and without one but the outcome is the same. Does the problem lie with the hole in the spoiler? Would it be advisable to try and fill it with filler or somethin and then try screwing it in again?

please help!

Sounds like the threaded boss has come loose in the spoiler itself. Might have to take the whole thing off and re-glue the boss in the spoiler, what a pain .

Good luck

He means that inside the spoiler itself there is a captive nut that has worked loose, this is probably almost impossible to repair without cutting the spoiler up in order to re-bond it in place.

man that sounds bad. I dont want the spoiler to come loose or allow water to leak thru.

Only 2 of the 4 bolts in the DR Spoilers are are tapped, the other 2 are self tappers that tapped into the spoiler itself, you could try filling the hole with epoxy resin and then putting the bolt in, once dry it will be pretty secure but I would not be too hopeful about taking in out again if the need ever arose!!

Give David a call at DRM as he may have some more ideas!
