Default New age splitter questions

Hi all, I've had a bit of a search but cannot find the answers I'm looking for so if anyone can help before I spend some cash it would be great.

Basically I'm about to buy myself a splitter for my MY06 WRX and am at present thinking about either Scott Lowe or Revelution, my questions however are:

I want to keep it black, is the standard quality of both splitters ok to use straight from the box or am I best to get it sprayed.

Secondly, they look like they both have some sort of badge in the centre, can these be removed without to much fuss.

Thanks in advance and if anyone has any pics of a 06 with either fitted that would be great.

Thanks
Arron

i've got a scott lowe splitter for my sti - come ready to put on in black and have had no probs (other than cracking it twice! to low ground clearance). Mine didn't have the badge though in the centre - sounds like a genuine STI splitter?

Scott Lowe on my 06 STi does not need painting. The badge normally shown is the STi badge which you can stick on if desired.

Mines a Scott Lowe one in black, fine not painted on a black car (satin black finish not gloss), no sticker.

Or you could buy a geniune STi splitter and also add the optional rubber skirt (although I'm sure this can also be fitted to the above copies).

looks good but i think it would be better painted blue as your eyes are not drawn to it until you actually look at it! if you know what i mean!

cheers

I have the revolution one on mine. Kept it matt black as it arrived and it looks great. I removed the sticker though as I wanted an Sti badge but in the end left it plain. Aboslute doddle to fit but if you have any probs the guys at revolution are very helpful.

Robocop, where do you get the rubber strip from? I scraped mine a couple of times on steep ramps as I keep forgetting its there. Also how does it fit to the splitter?

Cheers.

It's from Litchfield's.

It's held on with self tappers I think and maybe double sided tape but I can't be 100% as it came already fitted from new.

I got the revolution one last week and fitted it at the weekend ... very easy. Decided not to bother painting as the black matches my wheels.

Very pleased with it ....

What's the ground clearance like with the splitter fitted, do your cars get over speedbumps ok? I want to fit one on mine but there are loads of the dreaded speedbumps around my way.

Chris.

I wasn't replying directly to your post, just the original question in the thread ... and I can confirm that mine is made of plastic (GRP) - or at least it was last time I looked at it! ... Haven't seen the carbon fibre one around and subaru don't have any pics on their site (as I'm sure you already know), so would definitely like to see your pics of it when you get it
