Question

As i'm considering buying a scooby from a dealer with two years Subaru warrenty remaining, di i have to have it serviced at a subaru dealer to keep the warranty valid. (I'm only asking this because of huge difference in price between Adam's and Risborough 4wd)

m8, it's Saturday afternoon. Most of us are either dragged out to the shops by the kids, wife, or both.

There's certainly nothing stopping you from getting your scoob serviced anywhere, but not everyone can make a warranty claim. So, if your clutch buggers up, you'd have to take it to a dealer so they can make your claim under the Subaru warranty.

During year 1 the warranty is governed by EU law and as such the car can be serviced anyway as long as parts of the OE specification are used. In years 2 and 3 the warranty IS entirely dependant on having the car serviced at a Subaru franchised garage. They have the right to turn down claims if any of your services after the first year are done at a dealer who is not a franchised.

Its a pain and keeps scooby owning expensive if you want the warranty.
