hi all,

does anyone know if a scorpion backbox would be any louder than a standard sti backbox on an 03 uk sti?

The standard one is so quiet you can barely hear it...

I just hope I havnt wasted 250 quid ordering something that isnt any better...

Yes it will be louder than the standard fitment when the car left the factory.

I has a scorpion back box on a previous car MY99 with a scoobysport downpipe & centre section and it was fairly loud - in my opinion.

But not loud as in ******** loud like those other units mentioned above

I'd try for a second hand WRSport unit, or even a second hand PPP back box personally.

I've got one on my classic, its definately louder than the standard one and really roars when you put your foot down, but its not stupidly loud like a Blitz and makes a nice deep rumble on tick over

Think the one I have is 4.5" or 5"

any decent after market zort will be louder that your sti standard!

I personally think they're daft, and probably illegal.
Plus I doubt they serve much purpose being the ridiculous size that they are.

thats just the backbox changed yeh?

 

I would say this exhaust is just right, especially if you do alot of motorway miles as it won't give you a headache

Oh meant to say when I bought the car it already had the backbox fitted and after a few months I took the centre cat out and replaced with a decat pipe and it hardly made any difference to the noise. It may have made the exhaust note a tad lower.

I think you will be happy with it
