i have recently bought a 1994 wrx sti (jap import) its silver and a 4 door, on the drivers side inner wing just there is a plaque that mentions the 1994 acropolis rally and says no 47/100 does anybody know whats different bout these 100 sti models or why there were only 100

All I can think of is that the Acropolis rally was the first win for SUBARU as a full WRC team. So I guess STi built 100 special models to commemorate the win.
I have had a look at my SUBARU books but cant find anything concrete. This is the first I have heard of 100 special models.

The first production run of 100 Saloon and 100 'Wagons refers to the Acropolis rally win on the build plate. It was the 'reason' for the STI model. There were 600 of the original 'altered production' STIs. One hundred Saloons and one hundred Sports Wagons; followed by a second production of a further two hundred of each model.
