Default STi ver 5 standard boost??

Hi guys

A little help pleeeeeeeeeeeeez

1. What is the standard boost on a 99 WRX STi Ver 5.
According to SIDC, this is the version that came with 300bhp from the factory.

My car is presently running at 1,2bar boost. Is this correct?

2. I simply cannot find an owner’s manual for this model online. There are manuals for other versions, but none for the 99-00 model. Does anybody have a link for the 99-00 owners/workshop manual?

wow..

i guess i should be watching it then. Have checked the memory setting on the Greddy boost gauge, and it shows 1,3bar!! But that was on 100RON fuel. I'm now filling up on 95RON and it's touching on 1,2bar at times.

Funny thing is i can't hear that the car is overboosting i.e. nothing to suggest the wastegate not operating properly, no shockwave noises bouncing off the turbo.

Car has a standard turbo.. is it safe to run 1,2 bar on the standard turbo?

I ran 1.3 bar on mine with the standard turbo. It went well for 20k miles and then the oil seals went and it was broken.

Then I got a bigger turbo

My 5 Type R has the standard VF-28 and is mapped to 1.45 bar peak (1.35 held) by BRD, has been fine, and I trust his judgement
Make sure Fuelling etc is suitable for the extra boost!

Highly inadvisable unless the car has been mapped for UK regular fuel!! Imports of that age need SUL and OB AFAIK. Inadequate grade fuel leads to det, det leads to a circa 3k bill for a rebuild!

Don't mess with the boost on these cars unless you're having it mapped/checked by someone with a wideband AFR and DET cans!

You have been warned!
