bought a damaged uk impreza and as well as the damage it had 2 broken cam pulleys and a mangled cam belt.

Well ive replaced the pulleys and the belt and ......

I heard some (maybe all) subaru flat fours have non-contact heads, but I am not sure, can anyone clarify?

 

spoke to a guy at scoobybits yesterday and was told the valves would be fooked, only person who's said that it would be fine was the salvage place i bought it from.

Didnt do a bad job either as its the first time ive ever timed a car up.

 

do a compresion test just to confirm.

what might of happened is the engine had stopped before the impact on it.

BTW im sure a scooby engine is an 'interference' engine

My friend front ended his Scooby into a wall, result-----> broken cam pulleys and mangled belt, result----> at least 2 valves bent.
