Default Sti 8 Fuel Crisis! Help

My car had just under a 1/4 of a bar on yesterday so i went and put 32 litres £30 of tesco 99 in.
This took it to 3/4 full. I have now done 43 miles and the guage has dropped to nearly a 1/4 again. When driving about for about a mile i could see the gauge going down. I cant see a fuel leak but at these figures my car would only be doin 9 mpg.

What is going on?????

I think a trip to your local dealer/specialist is required a.s.a.p. before your bank account is cleaned out.
I know these cars a thirsty but thats taking the p*ss.

Had a similar problem on my old 02 WRX, eventually sorted itself out. To be on the safe side check you aren't losing any fuel and then fill it to the brim.

yes cant see any loose fuel and surely the car would not be piling in twice the amount of fuel that it actually needs otherwise it would feel like it is running rough would it not???

Its a standard car

Imprezas have shockingly inaccurate fuel gauges... The only real way to assess your petrol consumption is to brim the tank (and reset your trip mileage) and then refill it after driving a reasonable difference. Divide miles travelled by gallons (1 gallon = 4.546 litres) used and Robert's your mother's special friend. I bet its closer to 18mpg; rather than 9mpg.....

Catalyst issue? Assumung you've still get them all fitted , I've seen this happen with a damaged cat - fuel consumption goes through roof - might be worth checking it out.
