Default Help Please

Guys, Would like to pick your technical brains here.

I've noticed that recently, when I come to a standstill in my car i.e- at a set of lights or stopping at a junction, my car tents to "sit down" a little at the rear end.

Theres no funny noises coming from the suspension, and no major handling issues, it just tends to drop down a little as i come to a standstill. Its not a massive amount, but just noticeable(Especially on the drivers side), and annoying, as Its got me worried that my suspension my be fecked

Anyone got any ideas, before I book it in for a check?

Many thanks,

Al

If your car is a newage STI it could be your rear struts as they are prone to failing.
My car was doing a similar thing as well as knocking when going over bumps so SG Petch in Richmond replaced my struts/top mounts under warranty no questions asked.
Another possibility are your rear calipers sticking.
Nik.

Doh, Forgot to say: Its a 2002 STi PPP.
I only bought it 6 months ago(From a main dealer), so doubt it would be covered by warranty?. Is this a re-mortgage job????? ££££££££

I presume they didn't give you a warranty which i would have thought was unusual for a main dealer.
As you have only had your car six months i would still get them to look it over and try and get them to sort it. If you dont ask you wont get.
Hopefully they may sort it for you. If it does turn out to be shockers then in my opinion they should replce them as they will know as do Subaru they are a common failing hence the modified replacements.
As far as cost goes i have no idea but if you were paying you wound be better off taking your car to a Impreza specialist who's labour rates will be cheaper than a main stealer.

Cheers Nik, I'll phone the main dealer tomoro, and try my luck. Fingers crossed. I'm sure the car came with 12 months warranty, but I'm just unsure whether it would be covered or not.

Like you say, if you dont ask...
