Default RIP - My Old Scoob

Well my stepdad lent it ot his mate while he was away in Spain. His mate got hit up the ****, shunted across a roundabout and into a lamp post. Everyone on board was ok but suffered severe whiplash....

Probably going to be breaking car now as the driver of the other vehicle wasnt insured!

Make an MIB claim. If you know their correct name and address then youll receive compensation. Its a pain in the **** but its better than going without.

Yes i agree with Simon, IIRC it's not easy but should get some pennies back. Then castrate the Bar stewards

i know how you feel mate. i crashed my old scoob sport in the rain swerving to avoid something bla bla. only 3 party f&t with being a new driver. didnt claim obviously afterwards, and lost £4500 of subaru, big new spoiler, and 18" speedline turinis im STILL paying for. whiplash is a bugger too, to try get rid of. 3 months on im struggling still.

good luck though and take gc8's advice and get the b@stards for ruining the car without insurance. just because they dont have insurance means your stepdad shouldnt be out of pocket for what wasnt evn his fault!

Also, feel free to take them to small claims court to get your money back.

Wont be fast, but at the end of the day if you have legal cover in your insurance use it.

is it not repairable? the door still closes okay, and Im sure the back end can be sorted out by a competent welder, rear quarter panel and boot needed but bumper looks like it will pull out.

Cheerd for the comments, ill pass them on to me stepdad. I am a bit guted even though I dont own it anymore. I put alot of work and cash into that car changing the front end, ally bonnet, morettes etc... he also spent a few quid, new clutch, full service and had an mot last week.

Anyway, feel free to jump in, Im sure it will be broken just cant confirm that right now but if ya do want bits PM me and ill gte back to you as soon as he's confirmed what he's doing.

I beleive he will be taking the chap to court but Ive beed there and done it before and even if you win, you dont get the money for ages or they pay £1 a week etc.... but it will be chased up one way or another

Is this the resource that all insurance companies pay into so that people can recover money when they have an accident with prople who are un-insured.

For some reason I couldnt get any money out of them when I had a crash so had to use cc.

Motor Insurance Bureau. Protection for drivers who suffer losses caused by uninsured drivers. As long as you have their details youll be compensated. It can be protracted but youll get it in the end. We all contribute to the fund; theres a levy on every motor insurance policy issued.

There's at least £4K worth of damage there. Just my front end damage was £3k quoted so the car was written off. My impact was much lighter too, by the looks of it. Main thing is, nobody was badly hurt. However, the un-insured driver deserves to be.

Ah right thanks, cant remember the exact details but for some reason my useless insurance company at the time said they could not use this fund for me (Admiral), and the inept legal team I was issued with, advised me to give up. In the end CC was my only option and in this case it worked for me.

Definately go down the route Simon suggested, but if you get no luck there dont be affraid to go down the CC route, its not difficult at all - just slow.
