05 Shape UK STI with 2.5 Engine ????????
Hi Guys
Been lookingon ebay for a scooby for a while now. I found this one that looks like a sweet buy, but getting some conflicting reports on what engine is actually in it.
2 Offical Subaru delaers have assured me that no other model than the gull grill has the 2.5 litre engine.
Where as the dealer selling this has assured me its a UK car with the 2.5 engine in as standard.
Can anyone give us a clue whos telling fibs.... I personally didnt know you could get a 2.5 in the previous model.

its not a UK car if its a 2.5 in that shape. If they dont even know the engine size of something they are selling then it may be wise to avoid!!!

Well its right hand drive. so it must be UK or JDM. UK only used a 2.0 in that shape. JDM use 2.0 in all impreza`s. Yanks got 2.5 in that shape but then it would be left hand drive.

I am also not aware of any bug eye with a 2.5 engine fitted by Subaru at the factory. It would not be a big shock if they did not have a clue what they are talking about, dont know the dealer in question but when I ask easy questions of sales persons they often have no idea.

it may even say it in the book, but it wont be a 2.5, no unless its had an engine swap.
Which, if it has, you may wish to ask why is has.....
I cant remember if the engine type i.e. EJ257 for a 2.5 is stamped anywhere in the engine bay....

Please do not question our integrity the Subaru Impreza comes fitted standard with the 2.5 engine.
This was factory fit & available in 2005 including transferable diff.
