Post 1000mile treatment?
Hi guys,
Just a quick question, i have my 1000miles approaching fast on my new blobeye and was wondering what sort of care i need to take when i have had my first service?
The car has currently done 570 miles since last Thurs when i picked it up, and i have not taken it above 4000rpm as advised.
When the 1000mile service has been done, how should i treat the car? Can i take it out straight away and use it all? or do i need to be more careful still?
Tnx in advance for your help.

Hi mate,
on my 03 and 05 STI's I tended to mostly keep them under 5k for the first 500 odd miles after the 1k with quite a few short sharp excursions up to about 6K.
After that regular excursions up to 6K
Not had any issues with either of mine.

I have a MY05 WRX300 and as above went for it after the 1000 mile service.
Make sure you regularly check your engine oil levels though as mine used quite a lot for a few 1000 miles.
I hadn't had a car which used any oil for about 15 years and had got out of the habit of checking levels. Lucky I checked when I did because by the time the car hit 1800 miles the level was just above L.
Oil usage on mine was approx..
1000-2000 = 1 litre
2000-3000 = .5 litre
3000-4000 = .3 litre
4000-7000 = no oil usage
I'm not sure how normal this is but I'm relieved it sorted itself out.
