Default Ebay Sti with P1 engine?????

Hi guys,

I am interested in this car but i am not too sure about it? He says in his ad that he fitted the engine and nobody said he could etc but in an email about the car he says that he has only changed the wheels since owning the car!!! Everything was looking good up until that point! How much do you think its worth?? And do you think I should even consider buying it??
cheers guys

The fact at the bottom it has dealer website at the bottom wouldn't fill me with confidence.

10,000rpm red line - Hmmmmm!

And why wouldn't a P1 engine fit into another classic?

That equates to about 20-22mpg which is probably average.

Why oh why do eBayers keep typing in Cap-locks with zero punctuation??

Just for spite I wouldn't bid on it until the feejit Brummy learns to use at least some form of English skill in their ads. Just think, if they think thats how to type an advert, then think of what their idea of modding and an engine transplant engine is??

Looks messed with, well used. Stuff doesn't work so suspect bodged wiring. ECU mapping needs to have a close eye on it, as with any 280+bhp scoob to make sure its been done right. Plus keeping a bit in the bank incase it is knackered (bearing in mind p1s did have the odd habit of going pop at 60-80K miles).

£3000 max....or £1500 if its located anywhere near Bordesley Green

Sounds horrendous to me.

To be fair, I've been taking it easy recently, and my calculations did include a 650 mile round trip to Rugby, but I'm getting 34mpg out of my STI 3 V-Limited at the moment.

Most 280ps scoobs will do between 15-18mpg in town, not that horrendous really.

The photo is not of a P1 engine, maybe the STI engine prior to it being swapped, but definately not a P1....

Im pretty sure this is the same Wagon that was at Zen's in Wellingboro, it was in there for ages, cold starting problems amoungest other things.

This could mean they are now fixed. Looks like its been cleaned up and sold off before something else goes pop!

Thanks guys, dont know much about the scoobys but love them! Only owned one for a short while (standard wrx wagon) and fancied something quicker etc. I am going to stay well away from this one. If anyone knows of some decent but cheap! ones for sale please let me know. Would love the 300bhp mark! Preferably wagon as i raced a 310bhp P1 and kicked his a**e in the corners, found out after that people think the wagons handle better!!!!

What makes it worse is BAG is using photos of genuine Rolex watches.. No doubt the knock offs will be complete toss and look nothing like the photos.

Thats odd because the P1 in the pic is the one I bought all my current P1 bits for.

Not engine but seats, wheels, spoiler and Alcon brakes.

The engine and transmission were already sold.

Interesting to see where the guy says he got the engine from because most of the other goodies off that P1 are on my car
