Mileage
Hi,
Im going to see a 1997 (P) STI. It's a fresh import, totally standard apart from a full exhaust system, the only thing that puts me of is that it has 140,000 km (around 87,500 miles) I wanted something with a lower mileage. Should I be put off by this and how much should a 97 STI go for?

The mileage is not really an issue, as long as its been looked after obviously.
My first scoob had 101k when I sold it, current 96k - not a problem with either.
Cost - not sure.
V5 STis go for between £7.5k and £10.
Perhaps £5.5k?

with a fresh import i'd personally be more bothered about condition rather than mileage... interior/exterior and engine/drive...
A good low mileage HONEST car is worht a lot more than some fresh imports you see showing 30k or something stupid on a 8/9/10 year old car....
Again price wise depends on mods/condition - from 5k-6k
there is loads on autotrader and ebay..
personally i'd rather buy one that has been here (in UK) atleast a couple of years and maintained - that way unlike most fresh imports it will have an alarm or tracker some tasteful mods and more than likely had a full service (Cambelt) and clutch in some instances... All costs that can occur if you buy a fresh import!
