Question

Guys,
having only had my Evo a few weeks, it's about time for me to think about undersealing. I have heard that Waxoiling is the best thing, can anyone tell me where I can get this done near me (Bracknell) and how much it'll cost?

Ta,
M.

Martin,

You can buy Waxoil from Halfords in Bracknell. Not sure if there's anyone out there who'll actually put the stuff on for you though? I Waxoil'd my previous car(205 GTi) and it wasn't difficult. Can be a bit messy though.

Thumbs up

** SHAMELESS PLUG **

My old mans garage in Beech Hill, just south of Reading will gladly supply and apply the waxoil for you.

They've been specialising in MG's for nearly 20 years, and have been protecting them from all the horrors of UK roads with Waxoil for nearly as long.

Give Ted a call on 0118 988 4774, tell him David sent you.

Regards,
Dave

The other thing to remember about waxoil is that if you use it inside the car it will stink for weeks!!

Just be careful who and how....if you remember my scoob at silverstone had been professionally undersealed by a company up here who needed it for 2 days, they firstly powerwash the underside off allow to bone dry then apply the sealant which must go into certain cavity poits as it would do under normal factory application, it then needs to " cure ". The cost was £230 but a top job, I advise you to masking tape your sills underneath as they can get overspray on and the garages tend not to think this important as it's not normally seen...me...well I'm just a fussy bugger !
£100 sounds very cheap !

Mellow,

cheers for the warning mate. The said garage seem to know what they're doing. They underseal old collectibles like MG's, and they too will have the car in overnight. The guy told me that they keep the heaters on in the garage to allow the car to dry overnight, and then underseal the next day. I'll have a word about the overspray though..

Cheers mate,

MS.
