I have managed to negotiate a cracking group buy on the above AP style large ally brake kits for the impreza. These kits are easily on a par with AP, in terms of quality and performance in my opinion. Details are as follows:-

- HI SPEC BILLET "MONSTER 4" POT CALIPERS, CNC MACHINED WITH LIGHTWEIGHT ALLY BODY

- POWERFUL 39mm OR 42mm PISTON

- RIGID DESIGN ENGINEERED TO ELIMINATE FLEX

- INTERNAL FLUID CROSSOVER ELIMINATES EXTERNAL TUBING

- FULLY DUST SEALED TO PROTECT FROM THE INGRESS OF DIRT, SO PROTECTING THE 4 PISTON FROM DAMAGE AND CORROSION

- CROSS DRILLED, GROOVED OR COMBINATION TWO PIECE DISKS WITH ALLY BELLS

- FULL FITTING KITS AND INSTRUCTIONS

Kits are available in a variety of disk sizes. Sizes and prices, with the group discount are below. We need at least 15 sets to qualify for the discount.

310 x 28 disc and caliper kit £700
325 x 30 disc and caliper kit £750
335 x 32 disc and caliper kit £800
355 x 30 disc and caliper kit £900

These kits take the standard AP 4 pot sized pad which are also available from a variety of brands at a small extra cost. Braided hoses are £14 each.

Ah, there you go Martin. It's happened to you I'm afraid, because I'm the kiss of death to any threads that I post on. Just do a search on my name and you will see how many that I end.

It's all to do with the fact that I tend to be impartial and sensible on my answers, I even summarise and conclude threads thus curtailing any more opinions.Doh!

I guess I'll have to take some tips from PSLewis and start to be a contraversial post'er (others call him something else), to prompt a few more replies.

F (the one who's never reach the 'holy' flaming post yet)

PS I forgot to say that without separate floating bells and rotors, this design will not be as good as AP's. IMHO that's the only way to get good heat dissapation, the calipers can only do 'so' much to help.

disks can be made to any specification required, ie drilled, grooved or both. Rotors are fixed as opposed to floating design. I can try and get some pics if need be. Are you interested?

must correct you here, maybe you misunderstand. The AP's, like the Hi Spec disc do have seperate rotors with ally bells, but they are both of the fixed design rather than floating. I understand that AP tried the floating design but found them awkward, needing greater maintenance.

Sorry but not heard anything but bad reports about hi-spec Brake kits. I've heard that they are cheap 'show' brakes for people with Novas who want big brakes behind 18' wheels and who are not bothered about braking performance under fast road use or on a track...

I have heard nothing but the complete opposite to what lee has said.

I have also seen the results in the flesh via danny fishers car and Pats car. Pat is famously hard on his brakes, so I dont know how convinced I am by hearsay like that.
