Fog lights are crude wide light projecting units that contain un-sheilded bulbs that do not comply with the square law for use as a main headlamp.

They are there for extra light in "foggy" conditions and can also make a really cool accessory for low intelligence drivers who think together with car flags makes them stand out from the crowd..

I always return the favour of being dazzled by flicking on my super bright 130w cibie oscars until I pass the hedgehog going the other way.

i'm with andy on this - try looking at it a different way why have your fogs lights on when its' not foggy?

Apart from the fact they blind on coming traffic (especially in the wet) most people with think your trying to look cool and as a result think your a t**t

I thought you could get more boost with them on

Wosre still is driving with fogs and sidelights and no dipped beam at night

Question is, why turn them on in daylight?
Cars don't look an better and it certainly doesn't make them any quicker.
Just looks daft.

Actually this is wrong, you are permitted to use fog/spot lights(call them whatever) in reduced visability rain snow, fog whatever(think it's 100 meters or less)

So technicly [sp] speaking you could have these on at night without breaking the law (doubt your average plod know this), if you dont mind everyone thinking you are a burke (old school put down )

Yes, it is 100 metres. I got pulled over once when driving at night near Welshpool. "Why are your foglights on, Sir?" "Because there are no white lines on the near side, it's muddy, the road is narrow and I don't want to hit a sheep." "Well, you are committing an offence, Sir. You may only use foglights when visibility is less than 100 metres."

1. Its illegal to drive with them on if visibility is not poor.
2. They produce some serious glare.
3. If the road surface is wet or polished is reflected off effecting other peoples visibility.

IF ITS NOT FOGGY TURN THE F**KING THINGS OFF..
